Funding Philosophy

In order for MMI to accomplish its goals we are dependent upon the voluntary involvement of a large community of people who are willing to share their resources, time, and talents. In our fundraising efforts, we strive to maintain accountability, honesty and integrity in the way we raise funds and communicate with our financial supporters. This document represents our commitment to all who support our mission.

  1. We believe our responsibility is to never treat a donation as more important than the person giving it.  We understand that a person's involvement with us is a tiny portion of their overall life experience.  We seek to aid people along their own personal spiritual journey independent of the amount of resources they contribute to us.
  2. We maintain that it is our responsibility to be open and honest about our failures.  When they occur we do what is necessary to correct them.
  3. We hold it as our responsibility to be "kingdom oriented" when we encourage participants to give.  We believe in an abundance of God's generosity and as a result we seek to encourage all ministry and efforts that unselfishly exist to serve Christ's purposes.
  4. We place great value in providing meaningful opportunities for participation, above and beyond just seeking people to donate funding to our organization.  We state that MMI is an opportunity to serve Jesus Christ by providing spiritual and physical health care in this world of need.
  5. We hold it as our responsibility to display mature and strong leadership as a prerequisite for us having the privilege to ask for financial support.
  6. We believe one of our highest duties is to be good stewards of the resources that are donated to us.  We accomplish this by having a system for collecting funding and accounting for it that is integrated with our plan to accomplish our goals in an efficient manner.
  7. We maintain that it is our responsibility to keep all participant's personal information and donor records in highest confidentiality.
  8. We seek for participants with MMI to experience the joy of giving.  The poorest among us suffer many spiritual, physical, and mental ailments and caring for this population is not a financially lucrative enterprise.  However, we have experienced that this is a life changing and rewarding challenge because it is the business that is closest to the heart of Christ.  He implores us to not forget the least among us and as we obediently remember, and give sacrificially, we experience joy and purpose in our own lives.
  9. We believe that God is the owner and giver of all things.  We hold it as our responsibility to communicate to our supporters that all they own is ultimately God's.

We believe that MMI's mission to reach out to the world's needy who lack access to adequate medical care is a God-given calling. MMI is an opportunity to serve Jesus Christ by providing spiritual and physical health care in this world of need. Through our short-term medical mission projects and our program to establish 500 permanent medical centers, our vision is to care annually for 100 million of the world's needy by the year 2050.
