MMI’s compassionate work in Mexico began in the 1970′s. In 1999, Drs. César Puesan and Pédro Gomez began as co-directors of MMI in Mexico. Pédro and César have made it possible for MMI to work directly with the University of Montemorelos.
In addition to our one and two week projects, MMI has initiated three permanent centers: Montemoreles; Baja, California; and Tabasco. A fourth center is slated to open in the Chiapas region. The center in Montemorelos has a vibrant residency training program which sends ophthalmologists into many countries of the world.
